We’re excited to share the latest product updates for Funnel’s connectors, bringing new features to Google Ads, Facebook Ads, Snapchat and PiwikPro. This February update includes automated imports, new dimensions, and performance improvements to help you streamline workflows and gain deeper insights into your marketing data.
Google Ads
Location updates
We’ve improved how location targeting is reported in Google Ads. Now, when you look at Targeted Location data, you’ll see more detailed information, including proximity (radius, unit, latitude, and longitude) in addition to the usual city or country data. If you’ve excluded a location from your targeting, you’ll also see a clear “Excluded:” prefix.
In addition, we’ve introduced a new field, Criterion Type, that tells you whether the targeting is based on location, proximity, keyword, device, or another factor.
This change gives marketers more granular control over their location-based targeting. This allows for better analysis of campaigns, especially if you’re focusing on specific areas or excluding certain regions.
Google Keyword Planner
We’ve made it easier to keep your keyword data up to date by establishing a direct connection between Google Keyword Planner and your Google Ads account. Now, Keyword Planner automatically pulls the latest updates from your Google Ads account, ensuring that your keyword data is always current without any manual effort. This new feature is available as a setting in the Configuration page and can be selected when connecting or reconfiguring a Data Source.
Previously, updating your list of paid keywords in Funnel required manual entry or uploading files. With the new automated import feature, any changes made to your active paid keywords in Google Ads will automatically reflect in Funnel, saving you time and ensuring that your data is always accurate.
New fields
We’ve also introduced new fields in the Audience Performance report at both the campaign and ad group levels. The Bid Adjustment field shows any bid changes made for specific audience segments, helping you track how adjustments impact your campaign performance. Additionally, the Criterion Type field provides clarity on the targeting method used, whether based on location, demographics, interests, or other factors. These additions give you deeper insights into how your audience targeting strategies are performing, allowing you to make more informed decisions and optimize your campaigns more effectively.
Facebook Ads
Field Previews in the Connect Flow
We’ve added field previews during the connection process for Facebook Ads. This means that before finalizing the connection, you can now see exactly which data will be available for specific reports and accounts.
In the past, it was hard to know exactly what data you’d be able to work with when connecting your Facebook Ads account to Funnel. This update shortens the loop by allowing you to preview the available fields upfront, so you can make adjustments to your configuration before the data is downloaded. This ensures you get the right data on the first try, making your workflow more efficient.
Snapchat
Auto-Connect Support for Organizations
Snapchat now supports Auto-connect for Organizations (manager accounts). This means you can automate the process of connecting Snapchat accounts to Funnel, saving you time and effort. The new Auto-connect feature streamlines the setup process, which is particularly beneficial for large organizations with many Snapchat data sources to manage.
Piwik PRO
New Visitor ID Dimension
A new Visitor ID dimension is now available in the Select Fields report for the Piwik PRO connector. This allows you to track individual visitors more effectively. This new field gives deeper insights into user behavior by enabling one to track unique visitors across their interactions.
General Platform Improvements
Campaign Field Character Limit Increased
The character limit for the Campaign field in Funnel has been increased to 500 characters, up from the previous 100 characters. With this change, you’ll have more flexibility in naming campaigns without losing important context, and all campaign data, whether historical or new, will be captured accurately.
Faster & Scalable Data Source Page (Workspace Level)
We’ve significantly improved the performance of the Data Sources page on the workspace level. The previous limit of 1,000 data sources per workspace has been lifted, allowing for more flexibility when managing large datasets. The reduced loading times make it easier to scale your operations and streamline your data management.
Resizable Columns & Sticky Action Buttons
We’ve made improvements to the Data Source page by introducing resizable columns and sticky action buttons. Now, you can resize columns to better view long values, and the action buttons will always be accessible, no matter where you scroll. This update helps you customize your workspace layout to fit your needs.
